Vintage poster Original Tourism Rimini

By René Gruau, 2000

Very nice poster for the promotion of the city of Rimini, in Italy.

The work represents a woman, feet in the water, holding a sun in her hands. In the background, an airplane is flying, leaving "Rimini" written with the contrail in the sky.

René Gruau was a famous fashion illustrator, born in Italy in 1909 and died in 2004 in France. He worked for major fashion houses such as Christian Dior, Givenchy, Balenciaga, Lanvin and many others. His distinctive graphic style, with simple, flowing lines and bright colors, was very influential in the world of fashion and illustration.

Gruau created iconic images of elegant and sophisticated women, often in evening wear, but he also designed advertisements for perfumes, cosmetics and fashion accessories. He also worked in the film industry, creating posters for films such as "Le Grand Amour" with Catherine Deneuve.

Over the course of his career, Gruau has won numerous awards, including the Charles Dana Gibson Award for Excellence in Fashion Illustration and the Venice Biennale Poster Award. His work continues to inspire and influence artists and fashion designers around the world.
