is a painter, lithographer, engraver and decorator French of Armenian origin.


The Salon d'Automne, is an art exhibition organized every year at Paris , France.

Since 2011, it is held on the Champs-Élysées between the Grand Palais and the Petit Palais in mid-October.

 

The first Salon d'Automne was created in 1903 by Frantz Jourdain.

Perceived as a reaction against the conservative policy of the Salon officiel de Paris,

this massive exhibition almost immediately became the centerpiece of the developments and innovations in painting,

from designof the sculptureof the engravingof architecture and decorative arts of the XXth century.

During the first years of the Salon, established artists such as Pierre-Auguste Renoir gave their support to the new exhibition and even Auguste Rodin presented several works.

 

Since its creation, works by artists such as Paul Cézanne , Henri Matisse , Paul Gauguin, Georges Rouault, André Derain, Albert Marquet, Jean Metzinger, Albert Gleizes and Marcel Duchamp have been shown.
