The Illustration of the Great European War No. 25

The Siege of Tsingtao was an attack on the German-controlled port of Tsingtao (now Qingdao) in China,

during the First World War by Imperial Japan and the United Kingdom.

It took place between October 31 and November 7, 1914,

and was fought by Imperial Japan and the United Kingdom against Germany.

It was the first encounter between Japanese and German forces, and also the first Anglo-Japanese operation during the war.
